She might be Red

Description

Except for the outfit and hair =D

Yeah, all medieval warrior babes love to run around and pose in the woods for no particular reason...didn't you know? Maybe she's practicing...

The body is very close to what I'd like my version of :iconpumpmonger:'s Red to look like. I just threw some random stuff from my runtime onto her, made this kick-ass pose and thought you'd enjoy it.

When I do get the time to really put together Red, I'd like her to have a more traditional barbarian-style outfit and the long pony-tail hair she's usually depicted with...I'm taking notes ;)

The pants are a second skin texture. I didn't create a specific bump map or displacement map to make it more realistic. Maybe later. This lady won't be a finalized character so I didn't bother giving her all the bells and whistles.

Had to do some postwork to this image:

I used the M4 displacement Maps for some of the muscularity, but with an image this size they become noticeable, even though the maps only chance brightness by 1/256 from one pixel to the next. There were squiggly lines visible on some skin areas. I had to go over a lot of the mid-tone areas with a soften brush to blend them in. If you look on her left thigh at full resolution you can see what I'm talking about.

I used Daz3D's Woodland Playset. The only thing I despise about using it is it's very difficult to make shadows work. The trees are sawed off about 20' in the air and the shadows show it. They also show up on the backdrop. I thought I had a good angle, but one stray tree cast a big nasty shadow onto the backdrop above and to the right of the character's head. I manually selected the shadowed area and adjusted brightness/contrast so the majority would match. I manually pushed the still-visible edge of the shadow in a zig-zag fashion to blend and went over remaining spots with brightness and sharpness tools.

I also brightened up the whites of her eyes, which were looking awfully red ( The character might be Red, but her eyes shouldn't look all bloodshot! ) . I'll have to go in and modify the texture for future use.

Oh yeah, and her right foot was up off the ground. I'm usually very anal about making sure the feet are on the floor, but I guess I just got ahead of myself. I selected her right foot and made it a new layer. Then I selected a portion of the original foot shadow and moved it over beneath the new foot layer. After that I used my Clone Brush on the ground to cover up the original foot shadow.

Surprisingly, you can't even see many of the modifications. Not bad for a guy who spits in the face of photorealism =D

Good pose for this topless, muscular warrior! Also like the setting, and the weapon design!
