Description
Whoah...this is totally faux pas. This is an image straight from my paysite.
Here's the deal, I just started this story in comic book format. It's been like, 12 years since I did anything like this...I seem to remember 14'X17" being the correct dimensions for actual comic book layouts.
ANYHOW, I'm interested in how others go about this format. If they use software or have some other tricks. I'll eventually want to branch out from this simple all right-angles format to add more style, but I want to see if I can get some tips first.
I'm using a template I created:
Bottom Layer = 1482X1800 solid black
Overlay 1 Layer = 3 pixel wide black outline to frame a 1400X1700 viewing area
Overlay 2 Layer =Solid white border to frame the black outline beneath
Horizontal Overlay = 10 pixel white line running left to right
Vertical Overlay = 10 pixel white line running top to bottom
NOW THEN, when creating the images I keep the overall layout in mind ( even though I haven't yet planned any pages in advance ) and estimate the image sizes, blah, blah.
After all the page's frames are complete I paste them all between the overlays and underlays and position them to maintain the 3 pixel outline.
I duplicate and relocate my horizontal and vertical overlays as necessary. I crop/resize the frames to fit inside the overlays.
Once positioning is complete, I make everything invisible except the white overlays. I select all the white area, grow my selection by 3 pixels, create a new layer beneath the whites and fill with black to create a black outline for all the images.
